Il carburo di silicio nero (SiC) è un materiale abrasivo sintetico prodotto dalla reazione ad alta temperatura di sabbia silicea e coke di petrolio in un forno a resistenza elettrica. È uno degli abrasivi sintetici più duri, con una durezza Mohs compresa tra 9,1 e 9,3 , che lo rende ideale per applicazioni di molatura, taglio e lucidatura.
Applicazioni del carburo di silicio nero:
